After Bad Boy’s performance at the BET Awards, Puff Daddy & The Family have release their first new music in years. Pharrell is on the hook/hypeman duties and the song will throw you right back into the 90’s. More music is set to drop the Diddy very soon so get ready. Stream “Finna Get Loose” below.
iLoveMakonnen is back with new music produced by Richie Souf titled “Where Your Girl At?” This song is hilarious while Makonnen is moaning and groaning throughout. The beat hits hard and is definitely worth a listen. Be sure to press play below and be on the lookout for more from Makonnen in the near future.
Meek Mill last night dropped off his second studio album Dreams Worth More Than Money. The album has features from Drake, The Weeknd, Diddy, Future, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz & Jeremih. I’m currently sitting in the Seattle-Tacoma Airport trolling through Soundcloud listening to wave after wave of mediocre music. When I clicked play on “GHOST” by REECE, apparently a 19 year old out of Virginia, I wouldn’t say I was expecting a whole lot. I was wrong. REECE kills this track. No question about it. From start to finish. His screeching, soaring vocals compliment the slow, minimalist, piano-filled beat to perfection. The fact that this came out 6 months ago and I’m just now hearing it for the first time is a travesty. Imagine Michael Jackson, The Weeknd, Yung Lean AND Spooky Black having a child, you might get REECE (that’s obviously a bit of a stretch, but you get the point). His sound lies somewhere between all of those artists. Listen to “GHOST” below and keep an eye out for more of REECE on Smooth Waves.
Skizzy Mars graced our ears with some new vibes today with his latest offering “My Friend.” The track takes on a laid back feel with the assistance from Marco McKinnis & Jules Henley. However, Mr. Mars brings a slightly fast paced delivery that plays well with the smooth vocals on the hook. Give this a listen below.
