Jamila Woods’ new project ‘HEAVN’ is all you need to be listening to right now

Jamila Woods is a whole hell of a lot more than the girl singing on Chance’s hit song “Sunday Candy.” Her newest tape Heavn is one of the most refreshing projects I’ve listened to this year. She explains the tape very well in the Soundcloud description: HEAVN is about black girlhood, about Chicago, about the people we miss who have gone on to prepare a place for us somewhere else, about the city/world we aspire to live in. I hope this album encourages listeners to love themselves and love each other. For black and brown people, caring for ourselves and each other is not a neutral act. It is a necessary and radical part of the struggle to create a more just society. Our healing and survival are essential to the fight.”
The project features a list of  Chicago’s current best, Noname, Saba, Donnie Trumpet, and yes, Chance The Rapper. Give this a listen below and love yourself a little more.

Schoolboy Q is someone we haven’t heard from in awhile and that’s all about to change, thank god. Last night he dropped off a single from his upcoming album titled “THat Part.” The song features Kanye West and can be streamed right here via APPLE MUSIC. His album has been sent in to Top Dawg so hopefully that means we’ll get it sometime this summer. For now, enjoy “THat Part.”

Zane Lowe took to his flagship Beats 1 radio show today to debut one huge song. “No Problem” is Chance’s next single off of Chance 3 that is dropping tonight! The record includes verses from Lil’ Wayne and 2 Chainz. The recording sounds like an extra off of Collegrove but when Chance hopped on it, it turned into straight flames. Don’t miss out and stream the track on iTunes here. Get ready for Chance 3 tonight!

Chance The Rapper preforms new song “Blessings” and announces “Chance 3” will be out May 13th

Last night on Jimmy Fallon, Chance The Rapper took the stage to preform a brand new song titled “Blessings.” Chance and his band The Social Experiment rocked the house with some help from Jamila Woods & Byron Cage. The song fits perfectly with Chance’s other recent release, “Angels” and his feature on Kanye West’s “Ultralight Beam” with the gospel themes and lyrics. Great song and we cannot wait to hear Chance 3 on May 13th!
