Kaytranada and Mick Jenkins both took over 2016 by storm. The two have been collaborating for awhile now and both released their debut albums this year. They linked up again one more time before the close of the year to give us another banger. “Aurora Borealis” features Mick’s signature deep voice, with a conscious flow of rhymes over rugged sonic terrain courtesy of Kaytranada. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Mick Jenkins, arguably the best rapper coming out of Chicago right now. The Chitown spitter has been busy finishing up his debut album, The Healing Component, which will be out on September 23, 2016. His latest effort comes courtesy of producer Sango and is titled “Spread Love.” The song is a slow ballad, soulful and compassionate with some additional keys from Dee Lilly. The come up we’ve witnessed with Mick has been a thing go beauty thus far and The Healing Component is shaping up to be one of the best projects of the year.
