[WATCH] Tunji Ige gives “Ball is Life” a new meaning with latest video

Ball is life, a phrase we often associate with basketball and people shooting things into trash cans. Philadelphia’s Tunji Ige gives the phrase new meaning with his most recent video, which is a cinematic adventure. Check it out below, my words won’t do it justice.

Wale announces “Simply Nothing Tour” and covers Complex magazine with Jerry Seinfeld

Wale has just announced his Simply Nothing Tour which kicks off on January 1st and ends February 19th. He’ll be going through 32 different cities across the US. Random Submission: Stream X’s Beat Tape “LFTD” Right Now

It’s been a very slow past few days for music. So, we decided to look back at some of the submissions we’ve had emailed to us lately. One that we really liked over here at Smooth Waves was a submission from Philadelphia’s X.

After dropping the stage name “Rookie Beats” he decided it’d only be right to make the new name official by dropping off a beat tape. His project LFTD can be streamed or downloaded for free below.

The 11 track project showcases some of X’s production skills and what he has to bring to the table. LFTD starts off with “Long A$$ Intro” a a rhythmic, dreamy soundscape that gets listeners hooked. The next track “Rounds” might be my personal favorite. The intro features some jazzy horns and then breaks down into a dope beat with some nice sampling. The last track on the project is called “HA” and you can tell from the start that it’s about to go down. This one is ready for someone to drop some vicious bars over. Check out LFTD below.
