Ro Ransom anf Kensei Abbot go crazy on “Donuts”

“Everybody change when you blow up.”

Kensei Abbot and and Ro Ransom are the perfect duo to body this dark, moody beat from KMRI. The duo go back and forth calling out imposters and dropping solid one liners like “Don’t let free drinks at the BBQ make you think you important.” Ransom has more music on the way in the form of a mixtape called Momentum that should be some of his best material yet judging by the quality and content of his last few releases. Take a minute to check out “Donuts” below.

Travis Scott gets Young Thug and Quavo on new single “Pick Up The Phone”

As much as I’m tired of hearing “Straight UP!!” and “La Flame” ad-libs on all these songs releasing lately I can’t deny that they’ve all been hot, and this one’s no different. Travi$ Scott gets Quavo and Young Thug on his latest jam titled “Pick Up The Phone.” The beat for this one is wild and Quavo and Thug bring that flavor while Travi$ supplies the energy. The track was produced by Vinylz and will appear on Scott’s forthcoming free album Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight.

Mike Will Made It and Rihanna drop “Nothing is Promised”

After teasing this song almost a year ago in July, we finally get the full version. Mike Will does his thing on the beat and Rihanna sings about how “Nothing is Promised.” This is a banger that you’re sure to hear all over the radio’s this summer. Check it out for yourself below via Apple Music. Expect to hear this on Ransom 2 which will hopefully be releasing this summer as Mike Will’s been working on it for quite some time.

Must Listen: “Already” by Kemba (Prod. by Frank Drake)

Kemba, a rapper hailing from the Bronx, has been a breath of fresh air for my ears. Music has been so bogged down with Travis Scott, Future and Young Thug rip offs lately. Kemba, on the other hand, is his own artist. His last two singles “Already” and “The New Black Theory” paint a vivid picture of the struggle that Black America undergoes everyday. Give both singles a listen below and keep an eye out for his upcoming album Negus, which should be out soon.

Asher Roth, Michael Christmas, Larry June and Chuck Inglish team up on “Laundry”

I miss two things. One, Asher Roth making music like this, and two, when all artists dropped things through services that didn’t require a subscription. That being said, Asher, Larry June, Chuck Inglish and Michael Christmas sound great together. The mellow, slightly slap heavy beat creates the perfect soundscape for the four rappers to spit over. This will go slightly under the radar today because of the high profile collaborations that just dropped but it deserves your attention. Check it out below via Asher’s Soundcloud.
